Recently, we completed a full replacement of a sliding glass patio door for the Zachry family in Belle Haven VA. The Zachry family wanted an upgrade to their patio door to provide more energy savings, increased security, and to make their outdoor living space more inviting and welcoming. After taking multiple measurements and studying our various window and door options, we determined that one of our sliding glass patio doors would be the perfect solution. To begin the installation process, we arrived to the Zachry home with all necessary materials to remove the old, inefficient door from the frame. We quickly and safely removed the outdated door, making sure to fill in any holes in the wall or frame from the prior installation. This would ensure that the new replacement door would fit securely and properly in the space. Next, we prepped the area and surrounding frame in order to properly and securely install the new patio door. After making sure the area was level and square, we made sure to seal any exposed surfaces with a sealant to protect against water damage, air infiltration, and to maximize energy efficiency. Once the area and frame were ready, it was time to install the new door. One of the benefits of working with Ameritech Construction is that each of our doors are pre-fit for easy installation. We simply had to align the door into the frame, secure it into place, and add weather stripping and caulk to seal it off properly. Finally, as one of the finishing touches, the Zachry Family decided to upgrade to a simulated-wood interior to match their home’s aesthetic. We also installed a keyless entry system to give them added convenience and peace of mind with their door’s security.
